Jameson Houston reporting:
Even though Cleveland isn’t much to look at, it is quite cool, being on Lake Erie and all, and with the house from A Christmas Story and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And it’s very easy to do those two things in only a few short hours. So, if you’re going to Cleveland any time soon, be sure to stop by those two attractions.
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland
This summer, my family and I went on a roadtrip back east. On that trip we went to Cleveland, Ohio, and went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. When we entered the building, it was overwhelmingly cool. To the left there was a cafe, and to the right, a gift shop, and if you look straight ahead, you’ll see huge escalators. So when we first walked in, we went straight to the escalators.
They took us down to this corridor, and straight ahead was a room, so we went inside, and it was very cool. It had lots of stuff about music, and music history. And then we went a little farther into the room, and there was a big section about Elvis Presley, it had his costumes, and a little movie about him. And then we went exploring even farther and there was a huge section about the Beatles. Well now, I can’t tell you about all of the Hall of Fame because it’s so big, so I’ll just tell you about the highlights.
Rock Hall Highlight #1. Rock & Roll Pinball
In the rock and roll hall of fame, they have a huge room of Pinball machines!! And each pinball machine has a band theme. Another cool thing about the pinball room, you will get some coins free! But you only get a select amount of them, the rest you have to buy.
Rock Hall Highlight #2. All the awesome music artifacts!
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has so many cool artifacts, like Johnny Ramone’s leather jacket and Les Paul’s guitar.
Rock Hall Highlight #3. The Power of Rock Show
In the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame they have a show—it’s (of course) about music. This show is good for when you’ve been walking all over the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and your feet are tired.
That was just one of the things we did in Cleveland, another thing we did was go to the A Christmas Story House.
The house from A Christmas Story in Cleveland
On our trip in Cleveland, we went to the A Christmas Story house. This is where they filmed the outside of the house in A Christmas Story. The inside was filmed on a sound stage. We only saw the outside though, because it was too expensive and we wanted to get to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But it was still pretty cool. And in the window of the house they have, the legendary, the iconic, the leg lamp. They even had a gift shop.
The funniest thing about the house is that it’s in Cleveland, and they live on Cleveland Street in Indiana in the movie—and in this book that the movie A Christmas Story was based on:
We had to leave Cleveland fast so we could get to Niagara Falls so we didn’t get much time in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame but we took 1000 pictures so I’ll be back soon to give you a photo tour of the Rock Hall!
