Want to know the best hotel within walking distance of Disneyland? I’ve got you covered.
Grand Legacy At The Park invites you to “Be part of the story.” That’s an easy mission for our family to accept because Grand Legacy has been part of our family’s story for ten years! We’re longtime Disneyland Annual Passholders but not So Cal locals, so we always stay in a hotel on our Disneyland trips. We’ve stayed with Grand Legacy At The Park dozens of times, following Grand Legacy’s story along with our own over a memorable ten years of Disneyland vacations!

Grand Legacy At The Park has undergone a dramatic multi-year refurbishment and rebranding and our family has followed the progress on the construction project with interest during each visit. Formerly known as Ramada Maingate At The Park, the hotel is still run by the same owner and the same great staff! In fact, Grand Legacy has been owned and operated by the same family for more than forty years. We’re so excited that the new tower of suites and Premier rooms and The Fifth rooftop lounge are almost ready for guests!

During our stay last month for Jefferson’s 12th birthday I got to take a peek at the gorgeous new lobby and a ride up to The Fifth, the rooftop lounge at Grand Legacy At The Park with a wraparound view of the Disneyland Resort that goes all the way from Cars Land in Disney’s California Adventure to the Matterhorn in Disneyland!

The Best Hotel within Walking Distance of Disneyland
My most important piece of advice for every family planning a Disneyland vacation is to stay at a hotel within walking distance of the Parks. I don’t like being at the mercy of the ART bus system, hotel shuttles, or Disney parking. I love having the flexibility to go back and forth between the Parks and my hotel room when I want to, without waiting for traffic or a tram or shuttle. If you’ve ever had a kid who melted down, skinned her knee, almost made it to the restroom, lost his shoe, or really really really needed a nap, you can see the appeal of being able to go from Disneyland to your room in under five minutes!
I took a photo of the distance between the Disneyland pedestrian entrance on Harbor Blvd. and Grand Legacy At The Park:
Grand Legacy At The Park is so close to Disneyland! Directly to the left of Walt Disney’s star in Anaheim (not to be confused with his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!) is the street light at “East Shuttle Area.” Cross the street and walk a few doors south on Harbor Blvd. to Grand Legacy At The Park!
Even Google knows it only takes three minutes to walk from Grand Legacy At The Park to Disneyland!
We started visiting Disneyland as a family when Jefferson was two years old. He celebrated his third birthday at Disneyland…and every birthday since! This year marks ten years of celebrating Jefferson’s birthday at Disneyland! When the amazing staff at Grand Legacy At The Park found out it was Jefferson’s birthday, they left him this great surprise to discover when he got back to our room in the afternoon!
He was thrilled, and touched that the staff had gone out of their way to make his day extra special! Grand Legacy At The Park wants you to Be part of the story and they also invite you to Celebrate Here. Done and done! We’ve celebrated so many family birthdays at Disneyland and those happy birthdays start at Grand Legacy At The Park!
We spent a 5-day “weekend” at Disneyland and in Hollywood to celebrate Jefferson’s 12th birthday! My mom is the coolest because she’s always up for meeting us at Disneyland! Here’s the birthday boy meeting the hated Kylo Ren. Do you think he’s really going to be redeemed in the end? (I’ll never forgive him!)
After a fantastic Disneyland trip for Season of the Force and Disneyland’s Diamond Celebration I got to take a tour of the all new tower at Grand Legacy At The Park with Jennifer McVey, Grand Legacy’s Director of Marketing. We started our tour in the all new lobby. The staff has been welcoming guests in a temporary building during construction. I think they’ll like their new home, don’t you?
The lobby with its coffered ceiling, sleek woodwork, and gorgeous light fixtures gives you a hint of the modern elegance you can expect to experience in the new Premier rooms and suites in the brand new tower! Watch my video tour of the new 2-room suite: Hotel View Disneyland Resort – Grand Legacy At The Park – 2 Room Suite Anaheim Hotel! The illuminated marble front desk is a show stopper!
Even the elevator entrance is gorgeous! Take the elevator up to your room, or all the way up to The Fifth, which will soon be a destination in itself for fun, food, and drinks—and let’s not forget that view! The Fifth is Anaheim’s only family friendly rooftop lounge with a wraparound view of Disneyland!
The new rooms are almost ready! Only at Grand Legacy At The Park can you choose your Theme Park View! Here’s a room in the new tower with an amazing view of Space Mountain! In fact, you can see the Big 3: Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, and the Matterhorn! Wouldn’t it be cool to lie in bed watching the Monorail whiz by? The view of the Disneyland fireworks show is spectacular from this vantage point!

Here’s a closer look at that amazing view of Disneyland!
Do your kids go crazy for Cars? You can choose a view of Cars Land and the imposing Hollywood Tower of Terror! Here’s something pretty cool: you can see the Tower of Terror from almost anywhere at Grand Legacy At The Park!

Now I’ll take you up to The Fifth, the rooftop lounge at Grand Legacy At The Park. It’s the only hotel with a wraparound view of the Disneyland Resort! If you look to your left you’ll see the backside of water!
Just kidding. You’ll see all the iconic rides in Disney’s California Adventure: Cars Land, the Hollywood Tower of Terror, California Screamin’, and Mickey’s Fun Wheel!
Follow the Disneyland Resort view right and you’ll find Disneyland’s three mountains: Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, and the Matterhorn! (OK, Space Mountain isn’t really a mountain but it is the coolest ride ever with the Hyperspace Mountain overlay!)
Because it’s not enough to have an amazing view of the Disneyland Resort, you can turn around and get a breathtaking view of the hotel’s oasis and the city of Anaheim!
One of the reasons our family chooses to be part of Grand Legacy’s story over and over again is the personal service we’ve experienced each and every trip. The staff is always welcoming and helpful, and they all have a great work ethic. You know, they really don’t have to be as nice as they are; hotel rooms near Disneyland practically fill themselves. That’s why we love the Grand Legacy staff! They make us feel like they’re happy we came.
Grand Legacy wants to help people who aren’t their guests too! I love that Grand Legacy At The Park supports several charities, and asks their guests to join them as part of that story! Grand Legacy even provides mindful coffee for their guests. The most recent addition to Grand Legacy’s commitment to their community is My Day Counts, whose mission is to make life better for people with disabilities. The Legacy Blend coffee you’ll find in your room helps keep My Day Counts workers employed!
On this Disneyland trip we found the limited edition Make-A-Wish Mickey Ears and we knew our friends at Grand Legacy had to have them! If you’re in a Disney Park before they sell out, do buy these special Mickey ears! The #shareyourears promotion met its goal but you can still buy the ears—and 100% of the proceeds go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation!
