Week 7 Ketovore Diet Results: Week of April 27, 2024
Week 7 Ketovore Diet Weight Loss Results:
- Weight loss: -9 lbs total
- Waist: -3 inches total
- 994 average calories per day. (About 120 calories per day less than week 6.)
- 92 average protein per day. (About the same as week 6.)
- 62 average fat per day. (About 11 fewer grams fat per day than in week 6.)
- 16 average carbs per day (high 39, low 7).
- Lowering my fat intake for the third week in a row definitely produced results, as my stomach was flatter, I lost another 0.5 inches off my waist, and lost 4 lbs.
- I still don’t really get hungry, and usually don’t feel like eating anything after my second meal (usually eaten between 3-5 p.m.), which made it easy to keep my calories lower. This is the consistent situation for all 7 weeks so far.
- My primary carb sources were cottage cheese, onions, and spices.
- My sleep is normalizing to about 8 hours a night, but I’m feeling sleepy far too early, around 7:30-8:00 p.m. That wakes me up at 4 a.m., which is too early to get morning sunlight right away.
- I burned my leg badly so could not exercise at all this week again, but I worked up to getting out of the house to grocery shop, and started getting about 4,000 steps per day. Still not enough movement.

Week 7 Ketovore Meal Ideas:
Ketovore Breakfast: I upped my collagen to 3 tbsp, and lowered my heavy cream to 2 tbsp with my coffee each morning. I am not feeling like I need caffeine in the morning, I’m practically drinking two cups of coffee so I can add the collagen and heavy cream.
My daily coffee: 2 cups of coffee, 3 Tbsp Great Lakes Collagen Peptides (75 calories, 18 grams protein), and 2 Tbsp heavy cream (100 calories).
My electrolyte drink:
- 2 tsp Calm magnesium citrate (The orange flavor is the best; the cherry flavor is awful.)
- 1/4 tsp Himalayan pink salt (I get mine at Winco for about $1/lb in the bulk bins but if you don’t have a Winco: Himalayan Pink Salt on Amazon)
- 1/4 tsp potassium chloride. I use NuSalt, which is about $1.50 at Winco. (Here’s a 3 pack on Amazon: NuSalt potassium chloride.)
- I stir it up in water and let it sit until it looks clear, about 10 minutes.
- I started drinking the electrolyte twice a day, which did improve my energy. I’ve been double dosing the electrolyte drink, as well as actually licking Himalayan pink salt periodically throughout the day when I feel a slump. It does work, and the magnesium citrate is definitely helping to keep my digestion regular.
Ketovore Lunches:
- I did two pure protein days this week, which is just high protein and low fat (about 30 grams) and low carb (about 10 grams). The only way I could figure out how to choke down this horrid macro division was to eat lowfat cottage cheese, and tuna. I like both of those things a lot, and spruced it up with fresh dill, fresh parsley, red onion, lemon juice, and dill pickles, but the pure protein days are not sustainable. I didn’t feel hungry the next day though, and I was satisfied during the day…and I did continue to lose weight and inches, so maybe it’s worth it.
Ketovore Dinners:
- Ground beef, carnivore chili, bacon and eggs, taco salads, chicken breast, tuna, cottage cheese.
Family Ketovore/Carnivore Meal Prep Week 7:
I did a massive meal prep on the grill this week, and we ate the bounty for several days. One charcoal chimney of charcoal lasted through grilling the burgers and chicken, and I fake-smoked the chicken breast and carne asada in foil pans for about 2 hours. I have this Weber charcoal chimney, and it holds 4 lbs, 10 oz of charcoal. I use Kingsford charcoal because for me it is the cheapest yet most reliable, and burns for hours. Check the price on Amazon for Kingsford charcoal; it’s often the same price or cheaper than Walmart or the grocery store, and you don’t have to lug it onto your cart and into your car when Amazon delivers it to your door.
- 8 lbs burgers
- 3 lbs chicken breast
- 2 lbs smoked chicken breast
- 4 lbs carne asada
Family Ketovore Grocery Budget for Recipes Week 7:
- $9.15 per lb pastured ground beef for the burgers.
- $7.66 per dozen pastured eggs. $0.64 each.
- $7.99 for organic chicken breast from Winco (normal price).
- $11.25 per lb. for pastured beef stew meat, which I used for the carne asada.
