I was browsing through my Google Calendar on January 1st, 2024, and noticed Google has “First Day of Pride Month” listed as a US Holiday. That’s not a holiday, just posturing by Google. I do want actual US Holidays listed (New Year’s Day, Christmas Day, Thanksgiving Day, Independence Day, etc.). How to remove nonsensical, politically-driven “holidays” from your Google Calendar:
Hover over the “Holidays in the US” calendar and click the three dots, then Settings. About midway down is a drop-box for Holiday Calendar Content. Select “Public holidays only”.
Works great, you’ll have to use a computer browser as you can’t do this on your phone.
Now my “Holidays in United States” on Google Calendar shows only:
Jan 1 New Year’s Day
Jan 15 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
Feb 19 Presidents’ Day
May 27 Memorial Day
June 19 Juneteenth. The “public holidays only” hack can’t get rid of this fake holiday or the real racism behind federalizing this fake holiday.
July 4 Independence Day
Sept 2 Labor Day. Ironically only worked by laborers.
Oct 14 Columbus Day. You can’t please Italians and Indians, but Italians got their holiday first because of President Harrison. Indians are better than Italians to the Arizona government, which renamed Columbus Day as “Indigenous Peoples’ Day”, even though not a single Arizona public school student can spell “indigenous”, or knows the correct usage of “peoples” vs. “people”, or would correctly place the apostrophe.
Nov 11 Veterans Day
Nov 28 Thanksgiving Day
Dec 25 Christmas Day
Guess what Google missed? Easter. Easter is on March 31, 2024.
So if you modify your Google Calendar settings to remove the pandering “holiday” called ‘First Day of Pride Month”, Google also takes Easter Sunday off the calendar.
Yet another reason why Google is fast becoming equally useless and dangerous.
