Should you visit the Little Roadside Chapel in summer? Arizona summers are hot (that’s an understatement) and you’ll be stuck in the middle of nowhere if your car breaks down. We only explore the Arizona desert in December, January, and maybe the first couple weeks of February, because a rattlesnake encounter is not my idea of family fun!

Is a visit to the Little Roadside Chapel worth it?
Yes: As a detour on a roadtrip between AZ and CA.
No: As a destination in itself.
We discovered this fun roadside attraction by accident—or maybe it was Providential! We had mapped a route that included stops at several roadside attractions off the I-10 between Arizona and California, but Google had the wrong address for one of our stops so we went about an hour off our route. The Little Roadside Chapel ended up being the kids’ favorite stop on the trip!

One of the best parts of this roadtrip detour is the road on the way! The road has hundreds of small dips and we had a blast driving over them! If your kids tend to get carsick, this may not be a plus.
Make sure you step inside the Little Roadside Chapel. My kids loved feeling big inside the tiny church!
