I have a tween and a teen, and sometimes it seems like all the Phoenix Groupon deals are for little kids. I’ve found the best Phoenix Groupon deals for families with teens and tweens—these Groupons are great for families with kids who are too old for play places and kiddie museums.
When Groupon runs a flash sale, these are the Phoenix Groupon “Things To Do” I look for so our family can have a great family fun day on the cheap. I’ve also listed a few Groupon duds that aren’t really deals at all.
Here are 2 ways to save even more when you buy a Groupon, and my favorite Phoenix Groupon deals for teens and tweens:
2 Ways to Save More Money When You Buy a Groupon:
1. Get $10 Free Groupon Bucks when your friends sign up:
If you’ve never used Groupon before, you can sign up for a Groupon account here with my referral link. Then you’ll get your own referral code and you’ll get $10 in free Groupon bucks for every friend who signs up with your referral!
2. Remember to start your Groupon shopping at Ebates:
- Ebates almost always offers at least 6% cash back on Groupon. Plus, I’ve received special Groupon incentives from Ebates like $10 cash back on a single purchase.
- Get a $10 gift card on your first $25 purchase when you sign up for Ebates with my link.

The Best Phoenix Groupons for Families with Teens and Tweens
Groupons for teens: Glenfair Lanes Family Bowling Deal
Glenfair Lanes Groupon Deal I look for: $28 for 2 hours of bowling and shoe rental for four.
Why this Groupon is awesome:
- Bowling is crazy expensive! All the bowling alleys in Phoenix have raised prices to attract the hipster crowd. Families are priced out of a simple night of fun.
- Glenfair Lanes is in a good central location to just about everybody in the Phoenix metro, at 59th Ave and Bethany Home Road.
Glenfair Lanes Groupon deals don’t allow promo codes, so look for flash sales for the best deal.
Groupons for teens: Arizona Science Center Family Membership
Arizona Science Center Groupon Deal I look for: $65 for annual membership for a family of four.
Why this Groupon is awesome:
Yes, teens and tweens are a little too old for the AZ Science Center, but you’re buying the family membership for these perks:
- Your kids still love the bed of nails. So do you.
- Arizona families love to travel to California! Visit tons of CA science museums for free with your AZ Science Center membership! Go to the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles FREE ($50 for a family of 4) and Page Museum at the La Brea Tar Pits FREE ($54 for a family of 4). When you go to Flagstaff, visit the Lowell Observatory FREE ($46 for a family of 4). ASTC Member Reciprocal Program has the full list of participating science museums across the USA.
- It’s not mentioned in the Groupon offer, but the AZ Science Center always sends us 4 free general admission tickets with our family membership card. We gift them to friends.
Save even more on your AZ Science Center membership with a Groupon promo code. I wait until I get the deal for less than $50 with a Groupon promo code for 20% off or more. That way the AZ Science Center membership price covers one trip to a California museum—plus I can go downtown and lie on a bed of nails whenever I want to for a whole year.

Add Groupon + Deals for Phoenix Ice Cream Shops and Cafes:
Claim every Groupon + cashback offer for Phoenix area ice cream shops and cafes. If you don’t use the offers, you don’t lose a dime. Remember to link all the credit cards you might use in town so you always get your Groupon + cashback.
Pass up these Phoenix Groupon Not-So-Hot Deals:
Paintball USA Tickets: You can get a better deal directly through the company: $100 for 4 people, vs. $114 on Groupon.
Odyssea Mirror Maze: It’s small and really best for little kids, not tweens and teens. The coolest part—the laser hall—costs an extra $5 per person. Of course the laser hall is the main photo that Odyssea promotes for the Mirror Maze. Not cool.
Musical Instrument Museum: Groupon has the same price as the Musical Instrument Museum—plus you’ll be overcharged for tweens and teens: $20 on Groupon vs. $10 for 12 and under and $15 for 13–17. Musical Instrument Museum Groupon does not allow promo codes either. Not a deal.
