Season of the Force is in full swing at the Disneyland Resort and chances are your family will spend a lot of time in Tomorrowland to experience all the new rides and attractions and Meet & Greets (Chewie! ♥)!
Early morning at Disneyland is prime ride time—don’t stop moving or the crowd will catch up with you! Still, it’s important to keep young Padawan bellies full to avoid Dark Side-level meltdowns at the Happiest Place On Earth!
I feed my little Jedi at the hotel before rope drop, but when Disneyland opens at 8am my kids are ready for second breakfast by 10am, so we make a pit stop at Galactic Grill in Tomorrowland for a Star Wars breakfast! Here’s everything you need to know about the Star Wars breakfast food at Disneyland:

When, Where, and What’s Gluten Free: Star Wars Breakfast at Disneyland!

1. There are two restaurants in Disneyland that serve Star Wars food and they’re both in Tomorrowland.
- Galactic Grill is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- Red Rockett’s Pizza Port is open for lunch and dinner.
The carts in Tomorrowland do offer Star Wars merchandise, like the Tie Fighter popcorn bucket and the Chewbacca stein, but the fruit cart doesn’t always open when Disneyland opens, and the churro, popcorn, and pretzel carts don’t usually open until around 11am. That leaves you with exactly one breakfast option in Tomorrowland: Galactic Grill. Breakfast is served until 10:30am.
2. The coolest Star Wars breakfast menu items have tons of food dyes.
Get over it and enjoy yourself—you’re at Disneyland! If your kids really can’t have dyes, even on a Disney vacation, the Galactic Grill menu includes dye-free items with Star Wars names, like the Padawan Breakfast Plate (that breakfast entree is also gluten free!).
3. Speaking of food issues, Galactic Grill has an Allergy Menu!
Gluten free options at Galactic Grill:
- Lars Family Breakfast Platter without the biscuit
- Moisture Farm Fresh Fruit Platter without the muffin
Prices on both meals are the same without the baked goodies, so I expect they’ll offer you an extra fruit cup on the Breakfast Platter and an extra yogurt cup on the Fruit Platter when you choose the gluten free option. Disneyland is awesome at making dietary accommodations, so just ask for what you need. The Allergy Menu at Galactic Grill makes it easy to order food that fits your diet!
- Darth Tamale (my favorite Star Wars breakfast item is gluten free!)
Soy Free options at Galactic Grill (I think it’s great that so many Disneyland menu items are soy free!):
- Eggs
- Bacon
- Biscuit
- Potatoes
- Yogurt
- Fruit Platter
The Bad News for Adventurous Eaters:
If you’re allergic to (or avoiding) gluten, soy, egg, dairy, or food dyes, you can’t have the coolest Star Wars breakfast menu item at Disneyland: the Bantha Blue Milk Bread french toast. It’s supercool, so do order it if your body can handle it!

4. The best time to get breakfast at Galactic Grill is 10am.
The lines are shorter in the late morning and your kids will be fueled and ready to fight the Seventh Sister Inquisitor in the all new Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple—the first show is at 10:30.
Make sure to register your kids when Disneyland opens so they can participate in the Jedi Training show. Kids have to be present to register, so one parent can take the kids to register for Jedi Training (near Star Wars Launch Bay) while the second parent grabs FastPasses for Hyperspace Mountain or Star Tours. Divide and conquer!
5. Eat Dessert First!
During breakfast hours at Galactic Grill (opening–10:30am) you can order the Star Wars themed desserts—IF the dessert is available. A BB-8 Crisped Rice Treat? That’s practically cereal…which makes it fair game for breakfast!
