- You’ll automatically get Platinum Elite status with the Premier card, which earns you 36x points per $1 when you pay for any portion of your IHG brand hotel stay.
- Get 500 bonus points or 2 complimentary drink/snack vouchers with each stay. (500 points seems to be worth about $10. When we’ve chosen to take the free drink vouchers, we ended up tipping the bartender more than we would have paid for the drinks and snacks, so we’ve learned to choose the points.)
- Get early check in and late check out. We’ve received this two out of three times, and the one time we weren’t able to get into our room early, the staff felt so bad they gave us extra drink vouchers and gave us a room big enough to sleep 20.
- Get free room upgrades. We’ve actually received room upgrades for all three of our stays in different cities, and among different IHG brand hotels. (We definitely prefer IHG to stingy Best Western; Best Western never once upgraded our room over several hundred stays with elite status!)
